Three months in and I am still going strong (believe it or not). Jumping straight into road training after a good turn in the weather has seen me progress heaps and bounds!
Give me a follow and check out my progress on Strava!
Paul as my mentor took me out for my first road ride earlier in the month, the first challenge hit me with my terrible clipping-on technique, although I got the hang of it after stalling at a few junctions. Panic over!
Incline rides have also been tough to get right with a few laughs along the way, seeing me almost fall off the bike after ‘my legs stopped working’ to Pauls amusement! Gears and pedalling are now in ship shape after that episode.
Last weekend saw me ride on my own in the early hours of Sunday morning… I wanted 30 miles but the rain and cold disagreed – stalling my progress and halting me at 18.5 miles! Although shunted from my goal, going out alone and still feeling like I could give a lot more has given me confidence to actually hit that almighty 100. Reminder to self – wrap up warm next time!
There is now just one month to go until the big day, meaning I need to extend my max mileage by 10 miles each week to be ready! Give me all the motivation I need with any donation you can provide.
