This report was commissioned by six of the UK’s National Disability Sports Organisations – British Blind Sport, Cerebral Palsy Sport, Dwarf Sports Association UK, LimbPower, UK Deaf Sport and WheelPower, in partnership with the English Federation of Disability Sport and supported by Sport England’s Inclusive Sport Fund. New research highlighted a clear need to engage disabled people in sport and physical activity at a young age. The aim of the Active Beyond Education report was to illustrate some of the ways to prevent a decline in participation as young people move into adulthood.

We were commissioned to design the layout incorporating separately commissioned illustrations to bring the whole report to life. With accessibility at the forefront, we used easily readable fonts and a colour palette that abided by clear contrast guidelines while still complimenting the illustrations that appeared on each spread.

We then turned this into an accessible pdf which could be easily read by screen readers along with descriptive alt tags for all the illustrations. A separate digitally printed executive summary was also produced which quickly summarises the report.

“Once again, thank you very much for the fantastic job you and your team did on design and produce Active Beyond Education? for us. The full report was publicly released and received a good response across social media.”
