Chemical Code sponsored cyclist Paul Dable has just qualified for the Team GB team and will be riding in the world championships in Albi, France later this year.
After just missing qualification in the brutal time trial run on the Saturday, Paul picked himself up and smashed the Sunday road race finishing a very credible 8th place (in age classification). Paul had this to say:
Seven months of training which at times felt just too much for me to manage. However, today in Scotland it all became worth it. A brutal road race over some big climbs and very rough roads had me digging as deep as I have ever had to do on a bike. Thoughts of my closest family going constantly through my mind and the people who have supported me on this journey gave me all the motivation I needed! In August when I stand on the start line of the Worlds in France later in the year – in my team GB kit I will be the proudest I have ever been. It hasn’t been easy. There have been bad days and weeks but the sacrifice all seems worth it now. I want to thank my Mum, Dad and Ash for everything. Anyone who messaged me good luck and has helped me along the way. My old coaching team who ultimately got me on the right track. But most of all @giantleamington for the amazing support and the bikes to achieve this. @cwsportsmassage for keeping my legs and body in great shape and @chemicalcode for never giving up. Without a good team around you sometimes desire just isn’t enough. Thankfully today, it all came together.
